Sologne “nonnettes”

What is a nonnette?

A nonnette is a small, round, fruit filled gingerbread cake, glazed with fine icing. It is made in the region of France known as “Centre”. This typical Sologne “nonnette” is round, plump, creamy and extremely tender.

A bit of history

During the Middle-Ages, nuns used to bake this cake, which gave it its French name, “nonnette” (iced gingerbread).
