A nonnette is a small, round, fruit filled gingerbread cake, glazed with fine icing. It is made in the region of France known as “Centre”. This typical Sologne “nonnette” is round, plump, creamy and extremely tender.
During the Middle-Ages, nuns used to bake this cake, which gave it its French name, “nonnette” (iced gingerbread).
You will like the softness and flavour. They will remind you of the after-school snacks of your childhood.
